On Things That Happened This Weekend.

This weekend was especially busy. And busy weekends are always a ton of fun.

Saturday afternoon was spent bike riding around the neighborhood with my bff. She ran. I biked. lol. She really wanted to run, I don't know why. Then we headed out to Target so she could get some things. Then I headed to boyfriend's after he got out of work. He and I headed to the pig roast at the bar. The old man bar. Sportys.

The pig was good. The pasta salad & homemade mac & cheese were even better. I must get the receipe from Jay. (the owner of the bar).

After that, we headed back to boyfriend's. We watched some NASCAR & some of the Yankees game. I was sleepy, so around 11pm, I headed home.

Yesterday morning I woke up early, got ready, got breakfast at Dunkin Donuts for boyfriend and I and then it was off to see Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.

I really, really love Nick Swarson. But that movie, was horrible. I really hope he, I just have no words for it.

He's so dreamy. Erm, moving on. After the movie, I headed back to boyfriend's. I cleaned out my car, then headed out to pick the bff up. We were off to Elmsford, NY for a vw gtg at Phantom Motorwerks.

Just a general pic of the shop.
We got lost about a zillion times. Then finally found it. And found our friends, Rich & Tom. We only stayed for a bit, then Rich, Tom, Mario, Kelly & I headed to a field down the street and hit some tennis balls around with a pink wiffle bat. Yea, we are classy. hahah. It was a lot of fun though! Then we headed back to CT. I went to boyfriend's and just watched some football with him & then headed home for the night.

I still have so much to do to my car. Sigh. Only 11 days away from vacation. I cannot wait. I have to meet with Amanda (my h2o roomie/friend/driving partner down there) soon. We have to buy food and make plans. I just really hope she's still coming. We really haven't talked about it in a while and I've had lots of bad luck with people staying pretty mum about things and cancelling at the last minute. But, I have faith. Maybe she's just been really busy.

And maybe I have a serious planning problem. hahah.

What did you do this weekend?
Are you a planner or more laid back about events?

On This Weekend.

This weekend was pretty quiet. Boyfriend got stuck working till close on Saturday night, because one of his employees decided she just wanted to quit because she was having a bad day. She just walked right out. It's not the first time she's done it.

I did spend some time with Kelly though. We went on a little walk into a local park and we found a little river that has the clearest water we've seen around these parts. We took the opportunity to dip our feet into the water, climb on some rocks and attempt to cross the small river, only to find out that it was way too deep.

Yes, that's me. Rocking my Alabama Crimson Tide t-shirt and my large hips. Also, I have an issue with my hair being to one side all the time.

After I found out that boyfriend wasn't going to be out at a reasonable time, Kelly and I hit up the Wolcott Fair. It sucked. It was way too small and their were wayy to many teenagers around. The highlight of the night was wearing flip flops and venturning to see the animals. It was muddy between the pens were you walked. At one point, Kelly stopped abruptly because she saw a llama and was afraid it would spit on her and I almost fell. The llama found this amusing and ran over to the side of his pen to watch my almost fall. Thanks llama. I also forgot my camera. =(

Yesterday, boyfriend and I ventured out with his friend Randy. We went to DQ for lunch. Then it was off to Manchester to visit the Christmas Tree Shop. I finally found a lamp I like for our future place. We also got a little bobblehead of Mulligan, boyfriend's Boston Terrier for his mom.

We went to mall and then back home for the evening. We played some video games. (yes its my favorite hobby, I own an Xbox 360.) I made dinner, which consisted of cube steaks marinated in Lowry's 30 Minute Marinade. Baked potatoes and Green Beans. It was yummy. Then I headed out with Amanda for some ice cream at Friendly's later on.

31 days till my first vacation this year. More on that tomorrow. =)

Weekend & Hello New Kids!

First off, thank you to all the new (and old) people that have commented on my blog posts. It really means the world to me that you have taken the time to read my little corner of the interwebs. I have to learn to get better at this reading comments and commenting back thing. I'm working on it, promise! The interwebs and I usually take a break over the weekend, we just need time apart. (haha)

This weekend was a quiet one. Painted pottery with Amanda (boyfriends bffs gf) on Saturday at the Pottery Piazza. I have not been there in a million years (okay like 5 mnths but still). They have soo many things to choose from. So far I've painted; a candle holder, a picture frame, a mickey mouse mug, a post it note holder and this time around I painted a flip flop jewlery box. Amanda painted a super cute dog bone shaped dog bowl for her doggie Hershey.

I'll have pics when we pick em up this coming Saturday!

After pottery painting and a Friday night of Pinterest'n in bed, I was super insprired to create something. Anything. So we headed to AC Moore. Everytime I go in there, I never ever know what to create. The ideas are there, but I can never put them together. I remembered something I found on Pinterest though.

A DIY Dry Erase Board!

What you need: A glass picture frame (12x12 or whatever size your scrapbook paper is)
Some scrapbook paper.
Dry erase markers.

What to do: Untab the back of the frame.
Insert scrapbooking paper.
Retab back of frame.

And ta-da! You have a DIY dry erase board. It's a bit more than a regular one but I love the fact that you can change up the scrapbook paper depending on the season or the mood or whatever you're feeling.
All in all it cost me about 20 bucks. The frame was most expensive but the scrapbook paper was .89 cents a piece.

I really liked the Times Sq print. I also have a baseball one (for boyfriend of course) and a green sparkly sheet that Amanda picked out for me. I'm probably going to take it one more step and put some hooks at the bottom so when it comes time for me and bf to finally move in together (hopefully next year), I can throw this up by our door and we can hang our keys or mail that needs to go out or whatever really.

Other than that, it was a quiet weekend. I did indulge in some mac & cheese for dinner last too. =)

We love Phineas & Ferb. + mac & cheese!

Weekend Recap & Boyfriend is Finally Back!

It's been six long days since I've seen boyfriend. He had a Subway Convention out in California. It was his first time flying all the way across the country. But, he did it. (Long plane rides give him anxiety.) As I type this his plane is currently on the runway waiting for the all clear to fly the five hours back to the East Coast to Washington DC and then fly roughly an hour back into Bradley where I shall be waiting at tonight. His fly is due in around 1120pm. (Don't worry; he's not on his cell, FlightStats tells me everything.)

I'm sure some people (namely bff B) think I'm crazy. He said: 'you guys act like he's coming back from Iraq.' Yes, maybe I am a little too excited, but boyfriend has not been on a vacation without me since we first started dating five years ago. Sure, I've gone on some vacations without him, but they're usually within 6-8 hours away from here. Plus, he works so much and loves to relax after so he got a nice little break from me. ;)

I know some of you have long distance relationships or signifigant others that travel a lot and let me tell you, I admire you. If boyfriend had to travel all the time, I'd freak. hahaha.

I did keep myself plenty busy while he was gone though. Here are some pictures I took of some of the things I did over the weekend.

Friday night I got some Subway for dinner, not because boyfriend was gone, but because I truly love Subway. I also got a manicure. My nails are actually about a shade less blue, but I used instagram so they came out darker than they are.

Saturday I went to the casino with my friend Emily whom I haven't in a long time. We didn't have a whole lot of money, so we put ten bucks in the penny slots and attempted to win. We mostly just walked around Mohegan Sun, admiring it all and people watching as usual.

Sunday I headed to the Rock Cats game with Amanda. I had accidently bought boyfriend and I front row, directly behind homeplate seats only to realize he wouldn't be here then. Amanda and I had a really good time even though it was 93 degrees. I think the ice cream in the pink rock cats hat really helped keep us cool. ;)

It was a really great weekend with two really great ladies. I'm so happy boyfriend is back as well. Just six more hours before I head to the airport. =D

On the Weekend.

This weekend was a quiet one. Boyfriend is getting ready to go on his first ever cross country 'vacation.' He is flying from Bradley (Hartford/Springfield) to Washington DC and from DC all the way to San Francisco on Wednesday for a Subway Convention. He will be gone for six whole days.

This is only the second time that he's gone away from me! (haha) He's not big into traveling as I am. I've been on 3 or 4 vacations without him since we started dating six years ago.  He's okay with that though, rather stay home and play video games anyways ;).

Poor boyfriend is not liking the six hour flight across the country though. He was diagnosed about three years ago with anxiety. He hates being away from home. He hates flying. He hates the feeling of his legs being cramped. (so do I!) But I just keep telling him, your best friend will be with you (he also works for Subway and actually got Dan the intial job) and your coworkers, just relax and talk to them. You'll have your iPad, just relax and watch a movie. Don't think about how much time there is left on the flight.

So hopefully he's all okay (I'm sure he will be!) and he'll be back before we both know it, hopefully with a gift in hand. ;)

Maybe he'll get to visit the Full House house?  =P

So this weekend pretty much consisted of getting his errands done. The boy owns no dress clothes whatsoever, so we headed to Kohl's to buy him some polos and dress pants. Then we headed to DSW to buy him some new dress shoes. Finally, we headed to Walmart so I could buy him a $25 Itunes gift card so he can download some movies and music for the plane ride as well as some plain tshirts to go under his nice fancy shirts.

Yesterday, he got his haircut, we went to CVS to drop off his prescription and had some lunch. Then me and his pup fell asleep and took a nice little 2 hour nap together.

Gf, why you take Instagram photo of me? Huh? You know I hate it!

Then boyfriend made us some mac and cheese while we watched Ice Road Truckers. He played some more xbox and I played my favorite search and seek game on his Ipad. Fishdom H2o. Download it. Doooo it. Seriously. (not for iPhone though sadly.)

Then we got some Friendly's ice cream. Went back to his house. Watched some tv and I nicely packed his bag for him.  (I love packing, seriously). I made a little list of all the things he needs. I do it when I pack as well. It helps me out so much. He just needs to throw his toiletries in and pack his backpack and he is good to go.

I'll be very sad though. But, I have some fun things planned. Time with the bbff (more on her in an upcoming post), a baseball game with a good friend (I think I have an issue when I spend 99% of my time with a family that isn't mine) and some good tv watching.

This Past Weekend.

This past weekend, I spent a lot of time outdoors. I really wish I could even remember what I did Friday night, okay, that's bad I can't remember.

But, Saturday was spent outdoors with the adorable Kelly. We ventured to a new fishing spot. I was looking up places to swim and fish online and came across a road that leads to the Farmington River, where you can park for free. Unfortunately, people don't know how to keep the river clean. There were KFC remnants everywhere, and even, even, several dirty diapers in the water. I stayed away from them and only put my feet in but now the thought of the dirty diapers makes me never want to return there again.

My toes in the cleaner part of the river.

The cleaner area. 98% of the river was not as dirty as the area to my right was.

On Sunday, boyfriend and I woke up early and headed to Boston for to hit up the science museum. We did in fact see Tornado Alley by Sean Casey and I loved it. Bill Paxton from Twister narrated it.

I completely forgot until I stepped in that the Omni Theater is a HUGE dome. It takes a while to get used too.

After the movie, boyfriend and I wandered around to the exhibits. We had been last year and not much had changed, so we kinda hurried through. Plus, there were a ton of people and almost every hands on thing was taken.

New this year was a dinosaur exhibit. It was awesome. Our favorite part is also going up to the third floor to look at the beehives. Many people don't bother going up, so it's very nice and peaceful. They have several hives outside as well as one inside. They have a long tube that goes into the hive and the bees come in and out. We tried to find the queen but unfortunately we couldn't.

Even though I know the bees are inside the tube and the hive, I still have this fear of them breaking through the glass.

We were so hungry by the time we were done that we headed downstairs to the cafe and the gift shop. On our way down, we saw quite a show. There was this little old man, digging in his bag near the lockers wearing gold sequined shorts. Now, I am really not making fun of him, to each their own, but it was surely an interesting sight.

Only in Boston

After we ate, we headed home for a night of relaxtion. It was a nice weekend overall. =)

Weekend Things.

It has seriously been soooo incredibly nice this entire week. And well last weekend was ahmazing too. Last weekend, boyfriend and I went for a lovely ride to the shore, and this crazy lady right here decided to get off the exit where you can take the steam-train and riverboat tour.

Which we did! I love, love boats and when we jumped aboard I was happier than a pup with a treat. Of course, you think I'd bring my camera. But, no I fail at that. So, I only have these two iPhone pictures from when we took a ride up to Gillette's Castle for lunch.

This weekend we are headed to Boston on Sunday for the day. What are we doing there? The science museum of course!

This is an awesome show!

Boyfriend and I are both super nerdy when it comes to loving on the science museum stuff. Plus, we are going to see.....Tornado Alley in IMAX. Anyone that knows me, knows that I have a serious problem when it comes to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Tornado Alley was produced by Sean Casey, one of the stormchasers from the series Storm Chasers on the Discovery Channel. Casey pioneered a revolutionary vehicle that can actually be driven into a small tornado. It has taken him well over five years to get all the footage he needs and the film had finally made it's debut in March of this year.

I'm not sure what else we are going to do, probably get lunch some where, maybe take a stroll? Either way, I'm really excited about the movie and the science museum and spending time with my love.

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! What are your plans?

On Where I've Been...

Hello all. I must first apologize for my abscence. I missed all of you a lot. I missed reading your blogs and commenting. But, I'm back now. I have to tell you work has been overwhelming to say the least. It's just plain sucked. Lots of things have actually. But, as life goes, things are getting better! I am back! =D

This weekend is going to kick butt for many reasons. I am going shopping, fishing, to a graduation and to a  concert! Squeeeelll!

So this happy go luck kid, that I call my brother is graduating from college tomorrow morning! =O
In Cali on his 21st birthday last year.
Can someone pinch me or something?! My brother Kevin, is graduating from a CT college with a degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Math. (aka high school math teacher wannabeee). I am so proud of him. He worked his butt off. There were many a late nights doing homework and studying and now the day has finally come. He has also been applying for teaching positions around the state as well, and I really hope he gets something soon! Congrats to my wonderful, pain in the butt brother. =P You're gonna be a kick butt teacher. (also hes single ladies! lol)

I have also recently taken up fishing. Even bought myself a handy dandy license. =) So Kel & I go fishing just about everyday that it's warm/not raining/thunderstorming. (I know its not a word lol). So far we've caught four fish. Three sunfish and one large mouth bass.

Crescent Lake.
We found this little gem off a website. I had no idea where it even was; but with the help of my handy dandy iPhone, I was able to find it. It's tucked back amongst some rolling hills about a mile from a major interstate. It really feels like you're in a different world though and we loveee it! That floating dock right there is usually where you can find us.

And finally the thing I am most excited for (besides my bro graduating of course!) is that I am going to the first country concert of the year. I am excited to being going with my two lovely ladies to see.....

                                       JASON ALDEAN!!!

Ahhh! I am so so excited. He is headlining and Janedear Girls as well as Eric Church will be there. It's only my second country concert ever and I am excited. I just recently really got into country music and I cannot get enough of it. Slowly my playlist is converting to country. =D I'll explain all the country loving in a different post. Promise!

(Michelle we need to go to one of his concert's together! I know how much you adore him!!!)

So, that's pretty much my upcoming weekend. After this, it's gonna be a pretty quiet summer. Maybe a couple concerts, lots of fishing and lots of just chillen out. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I hope to get to reading and commenting on some of your posts soon! =D
